Having computer troubles? Hey, I’m the webmaster at free computer repair and I am here to solve all your computer problems. Is your computer making funny noises? Maybe you are receiving several errors, or maybe you caught yourself a virus? Well, in this article, I’ll teach you how to solve each problem step by step.

If your computer is making a lot of noise, you may need to replace your computer fan. There are certain types of computer repair that you might want to undertake yourself. There are several minor fixes that can be handled with a bit of instruction and attention to detail. A computer repair that you might be able to take care of yourself is the replacement of the computer’s battery or fan. Every desktop computer has a fan inside of it. The computer fan is used to keep the computer’s components cool. It’s essential that the fan operates efficiently to ensure that the computer doesn’t become overheated.

The very first and most important step when doing any computer repair is to unplug the computer from the electrical outlet. You’ll need to examine the fan to see how it’s connected. The computer fan will probably be attached by a few small screws. When you loosen the fan screws, you’ll need to disconnect the fan from its power supply. Take the fan to your computer repair shop and purchase a new one. After replacing your fan, reattach the cover and plug the machine in. The fan should operate perfectly after replacement and the noise that you were hearing will have disappeared.

Is your computer getting slower and slower? Is this occurring despite not using any more memory? Are you having frequent freezing or spontaneous shutdowns? You may have tried erasing all the programs that you don’t use with no success. You may even have tried anti virus software thinking that you had been infected by a virus, and were disappointed to find that this didn’t improve things. It’s possible that your registry is corrupt.

Keeping your computers registry clean and repaired is essential to having a healthy system. The registry can also be manipulated with virus code to give up sensitive information and to cause malfunctions in the operating system. Just like any tool you use your computer needs regular maintenance and repair including a good thorough registry repair.

You need to keep your computer free from viruses. Viruses can harm not only your own files, but your entire system as well. A virus is usually located in a file, and it can be in one of these two states: active and inactive. When the infected file has not been executed, the virus is in an inactive state, and is not necessarily harmful. In cases where the virus is inactive, it is enough to delete the file. When the infected file begins execution (when started by user, by operating system, or by another program), the virus changes its state from inactive to active, and begins to perform harmful activities on the system

Once the virus has been identified, the best thing to do next is to run an anti-virus software, scan and clean the system. If you have anti-virus software on your computer (most users do), make sure the software is up-to-date. Most anti-virus software run periodical, scheduled or manual scans on your computer according to preference, and if fully updated, will promptly identify any malicious activity or files on your system. You will have the options of deleting, quarantining or analyzing the virus depending on the type of antivirus you employ. If you’re not too acquainted with the software, the only recommendation is to immediately delete the file, thereby eliminating any threat posed to your system’s security.

If all else fails, you can reformat your computer and start with a clean slate. To save data, you can install Windows again alongside the existing operating system. This is not the option we want but would not be recommended none the less. You need to choose the format option. With Windows XP you can choose either quick format or regular format. With a 120gb drive a quick format will take about 10 minutes while a regular format can take up to an hour. Quick format would be the preferable option.

Re-formatting a computer is quite simple with Microsoft Windows XP. The first step is setting your computer to boot from the CD-ROM. This can be done in the BIOS. For most mother-boards, pressing delete while the machine is booting will get you into the BIOS menu.

Maintaining a CRM system full-time can be both costly and time-consuming for mid-sized companies, which is why a hosted system is seen to be more ideal. When you choose a Hosted CRM solution, you consent to the outsourcing of the CRM requirements of your company to a provider. Companies can generate savings on operating expenses with a hosted system. Since the CRM responsibilities are outsourced to people outside the company, entrepreneurs can take care of business functions much more effectively. In a test conducted by Nucleus Research, 80% of businesses which have opted to subcontract CRM services enjoyed a positive return on investment. Hosted CRM can therefore be more suitable for emergent businesses.

Out of production processors can make for inexpensive upgrades. Maybe you are building yourself a new PC. Either way, the Intel Pentium D, which was manufactured by Intel from 2005-2008, offers a variety of cost, performance, and power consumption options.

Since the Pentium D line is currently not being produced by Intel, to purchase one of these units, you will need to either search for liquidators online or shop on eBay.

The Pentium D processors are a line of dual-core 64 bit x86 processors. The line came in a variety of clock speeds ranging from 2.66GHz to 3.73Ghz. One of the most popular versions is the Intel Pentium D 950 model which runs at 3.4 Ghz, has a 4 MB cache (2×2MB), and a 130W power consumption. The 950 model has a 65 nm process which signifies that it is the Presler version (first produced Jan 2006).

Two versions of the CPU family were produced; the Smithfield and the Presler. The Smithfield was initially launched with speeds ranging from 2.8-3.2Ghz; however, The entry level D 805 model was added later with a speed of 2.66. Many users claim this chip was highly overclockable to 3.5Ghz with air cooling and up to 4.0Ghz with water cooling. All of the Smithfield CPUs were made of 2 Prescott cores.

When the Presler models came out in early 2006, nine different models were sold with speeds ranging from 2.8 Ghz to 3.6 Ghz. Some the popular models included:

  • 940 - 3.2 Ghz
  • 935 - 3.2 Ghz
  • 920 - 2.8 Ghz
  • 930 - 3.0 Ghz

For someone looking to upgrade their Intel CPU speed, most recommend looking at the 940-950 models as these are priced great for the speed they offer. Since the Pentium D line is now out of production, the processors are becoming harder and harder to find (as brand new units). The 3.6 Ghz - 960 model is the most desirable; however, it is becoming difficult to find new 960 CPUs and the price usually reflects this which is why many are settling for the slightly slower 950 and 945 models.

Once you have decided on the D family of CPUs, I would urge you to consider the great value of the Pentium D 950 3.4 Ghz, 4 MB cache, 800 FSB model. Those who run multiple programs at the same time should notice a great increase in speed when running a dual-core processor such as this one. It can be very useful for audio, video, and photo editing applications. If you were to only run a single program at one time, the dual-core may not run faster than a single-core CPU; however, almost all computers can now take advantage of dual-core. Many computers run background tasks such as security scans, notification programs, and more which can all take advantage of the dual-core technology. It is very rare that anyone today would not have multiple programs running at once to take advantage of this technology.
